Overview

This role focuses on ensuring consistent implementation of hygiene, food safety, and quality standards across all retail outlets, distribution centers, and fresh food sections. It involves monitoring compliance with food safety regulations, conducting audits, developing training materials, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors. The position plays a critical role in safeguarding product quality, legal compliance, and customer health by proactively managing food safety systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

•    Maintaining the Hygiene, Safety & Food Safety Standards of the shop (Receiving, Supermarket & Fresh Food) by applying the legal requirements.
•    Maintaining the Food Safety Management System in the shops by ensuring compliance with the SOP’s.
•    Maintaining the Hygiene, Safety & Food Safety Standards in the DCRC/DC.
•    Ensuring the Quality of Produces and the products in the Fresh Categories.
•    Providing Food Safety Trainings to staff/supervisors as per the training plan & calendar.
•    Developing training materials for increasing awareness among staff/supervisors.
•    Conducting Retail Store Hygiene Audits and preparing reports and escalating Critical Parameters.
•    Observing pest control standards in the Shops/DC & DCRC and reporting for improvement.
•    Monitoring and coordinating calibration of equipment’s/assets.
•    Coordinating for food/water & swab testing requirements of the shops.
•    Participating in supplier audits and vendor development programs.
•    Coordinating with maintenance/project team for any related activities and follow up.
•    Handling, recording & resolving of the Food Safety related customer complaints and documentation.
•    Coordinating with the HR department for the staff medicals (Food Handlers) and verifying the availability of valid Health Cards, Food Safety Training Certificates as per the UAE requirements.

Qualifications

Msc- Micro- Biology
                          HACCP Level 3

Years of Experience:Min 1-2 years experience.
